Anton Gardener
First of all excuse me for writing in English (my written Dutch is terrible) but don't hesitate to reply in Dutch, which I can read. If you prefer me to put my texts through Google Translate please let me know. Question: advice about the best dwarf beans and runner beans to grow please. Last year I planted Jupiter and sans-souci dwarf beans, and some others, and Cobra runner beans. The Jupiter and Cobra beans were high-yielding and tasty. In fact the Cobra runner beans kept producing and producing for well over a month. I got confused with the other beans, as I was sowing all my beans in trays first (to avoid the slugs) and got the names mixed up. Some of them were not that successful and turned out to be quite stringy. I don’t know which ones though. I have grow lots of beans over the years (sometimes successfully, sometimes not) but I want to be a bit more selective in future. Advice about what high-yielding and tasty, non-stringy beans you other gardeners plant please. Thank you in advance. Anton P.S. driepinter
I only have an allotment for 1 year, but I had 2 types of beans last year who both did very well and were delicious. My english is not that good, and for the same type of beans there are different names which is confusing. I had "Helda" snijbonen, and "Prelude" herebonen (see pictures). They grow about 2 meters high so you need bamboo sticks or similar to support them.
Anton Gardener
Thanks Drieprinter. Nothing wrong with your English but as I say feel free to write in Dutch as I can read the language without any problem. Anymore advice please?
Anton Gardener
Succes! Anton Gardener
Thanks Gitta. And how productive are they? Anton
Rookie
I'm not Gitta, but I also have the Record bushbeans and these are super productive. I also have the Neackar Köningin pole beans and the Neckar Gold, these are productive as well. This year I'm also going to try the Lady Di runner beans, and the Arosa and Saxa bush beans. I'm also doing the Blauhilde pole beans again, that kind is also very productive, they give purple beans (very easy to spot and pick 😀), but they turn green when they are cooked, really funny.
Gitta

Anton Gardener
Are these varieties available in Belgium?
Rookie
No idea, I don't live in Belgium. Google is your friend. Here is one supplier: https://plukkers.com/collections/groentenzaden?filter.p.m.custom.gewasgroep=Peulgewassen&page=2&sort_by=created-descending Edited February 10 by Rookie
Arja
It's a winner-bean.
